Twenty-five Blue Liners Australia members, with the north coast crew rolling in as well, saddled up and headed out to Coolah on the 14th March for the National Memorial Ride. It was nothing too flash—just a steady run northwest from the metro area, about three-fifty k’s, with the bikes humming along and the weather playing fair. A mix of serving coppers, retired ones and a few mates, all keeping it low-key, rolling in together just remembering mates. No fuss, no fanfare, just the sort of thing the club does every year to hold the line.
Once they got there the day settled into a quiet sort of respect. A few words were said, and that was about it—straightforward as you’d expect from a bunch of blokes who’ve seen enough not to need the drama. The ride back was much the same, easy miles and a bit of yarn along the way. Good on ’em for turning up again; these things matter more than most folk realise.

History of Blue Liners AustraliaThe Blue Liners Australia started in 1992 when a group of police and friends decided to ride their bikes to Tamworth. This run was so enjoyable that the decided they should make it an annual run and hence from humble beginnings the club evolved. The main culprits were then Assistant Commissioner Clive McLachlan, Chief Inspector Gary Middleton and Sgt Ray Robinson (vale). It is to these men that we say thank you for the foundation work put into this great club. |
