Why you should join Blue Liners (Australia)

The Blue Liners is, as we promote, a Police and ‘friends’ motorcycle club. If you read our history page you will find out how in early 1992, NSW Police Assistant Commissioner McLachlan had a vision to start a Police and friends ride to Tamworth to raise some funds for a couple of very worthwhile charities. The nominated charities in those days were the Childrens Medical Research Institute and the Tamworth Dementia Care. Without repeating the history page here, the club emerged from those times to become one of the largest motorcycle clubs in NSW and beyond.

I have been asked quite a few times, why a Police and friends club, why not a pure Law Enforcement Club, etc., etc. The answer is simple, there are an abundance of member specific clubs out there, if you like to associate with people who only ride a specific brand motorcycle, if you want to ride with only people who have attained a certain age in our society or you want to restrict your motorcycling association to only those in the same profession as you are, then there are a plethra of clubs to cater for those needs.  For our club, we insist on one thing, you have a healthy desire to ride your motorcycle and socialise with great people and great mates.

We certainly do have a history which is solid in law enforcement, many of our members are from the various Police, Corrective Services and other law enforcement agencies but we all have a number of great friends outside those organisations, it would be a terrible thing if we were to be unable to include our good friends in the social side of our lives simply because they are from a different proffessional or life style background. That is the niche where our club fits.

A lot of us belong to at least one other Motorcycle Club, and that is fantastic, some of those clubs are clubs that I have described above, but what makes this club different is simply that we are all different with different tastes in life, different backgrounds, ride different bikes and at the same time, we all enjoy being able to help some deserving charities throughout the year while enjoying our motorcycles as well as the cameraderie of our great friends.

That is why we are a “Police and Friends” motorcycle club.
