TUMUT Wash up

September 17, 2009

Well, what a weekend.

The weather was brilliant and Tumut was resplendent in colour and the locals were simply amazing.

Around 200 bikes met at various points along the road to Tumut and the final meeting point was at Gundagai. 3 Highway Patrol cars led the bikes in to Tumut for a great bike show for the locals in the main street, then it was bikes away and get ready for a ‘party in the park’.

A full round up will be forthcoming, but a simple breakdown of figures is over $3,500 was rasied for the 2 charities and the ladies at the Goulburn PCYC.  A complete report on the funds dispersement will be posted at a later date as we are trying to stretch the dollar value of the donation to the Tumut Hospital as far as we can after we found out the dire straights that they are in especially in the Emergency Department.

I would like to thank all those who participated in the ride, tell your friends about the great time they missed out on and lets make next year even bigger.

I must give a special thanks to all the hard workers from within our club as well as those local helpers from Tumut, in particular Peter Annetts and Albert Manning. I also must thank those supporters who constantly walk up to the plate and donate some amazing gear for raffles, those supporters being, Bike Biz Parramatta and Granville, Ficeda who are the importers of Shark helmets and supplied a Evoline helmet and some of the great gear in the showbags and Gary from Tourline Motorcycle Luggage in Brisbane who makes and donated the best motorcycle luggage money can buy, the Orient Hotel, Tumut and the Tumut Lions Club.

I hope I haven’t forgotten anyone, but all you have to remember is, if you missed out this year, it is on again in 2010, bigger and better than before.

Also, don’t forget to mark the Tamworth Ride in your calendar for 2010 on May the 15th and 16th. Next year, the Sydney mob will be meeting at Maccas, McGraths Hill and heading up the Putty Road and meeting the Central Coasters at Muswellbrook Maccas, bugger that long and boring  Freeway.

Till next time, thank you heaps for your continued support and all the best.

Robbo
