FRANKS – GRENFELL RIDE
February 26, 2010
13TH AND 14TH MARCH, 2010
Come and join us on this years Grenfell ride on the 13th and 14th March
This year we will be dedicating the ride to our good mate and last years Secretary, Frank Egan.
There will be a group from Tweed/Gold Coast coming down and for information to hook up with them contact Vice Pres Hunty on paulhunt2@bigpond.com and also we will be meeting the Murray Mob from the Mexican border at Wombat Pub which is our lunch stop. For those that are wondering where Wombat is, it’s between Young and Cootamundra.
For the Sydney and Central Coast people, we will be leaving Uncle Leo’s (Servo/Diner) just south of the Cross Roads Hotel, south of Liverpool on the Old Hume Highway at 9am. We will travel down the old Highway trying to avoid the freeway until Marulan (time permitting) and then our first stop will be Yass at the Servo & Maccas. If you don’t know where any of these places is please contact me (Robbo) on rob1ray@bigpond.net.au for further directions.
A great night has been planned for the group at the Albion Hotel, tea and a band will be available. On Sunday morning, before we all depart for our journey home, we will again be meeting at the historic Grenfell Railway Station where our great mates from the Grenfell Lions Club will be doing brekky.
Plenty of accomodation is available by phone and booking:
Grenfell Motel 6343 1333
Albion Hotel 6343 1199
Railway Hotel 6343 1807
Royal Hotel 6343 1412
But don’t forget to mention the Blue Liners.
Let’s make this years Grenfell like those of years gone when it used to be one of the best Blue Liners events on our calendar.
Come one come all, leave your stress behind and have a ball.
Best regards
Ray
VALE – RAY SMALL
February 3, 2010
It is with a very sad heart that I must inform everyone of the passing of yet another long standing Blue Liner, this time it was my great mate Ray Small.
Ray was invloved in a motorcycle accident in Thailand, where he has lived for the past two years. It is unclear exactly how the accident happened but he was riding his motorcycle at the time.
Ray was cremated in Thailand yesterday and his family was there and said that it was a beautiful ceremony.
Ray’s ashes will be returned to Australia and his family has organisd a Memorial Service for next Monday, 8 February at 47 Brittania Road, Castle Hill, off Showground Road meeting at 10.30am and afterwards at the Fox Hills Golf Club, Gt Westtern Hwy, Prospect.
His family has asked that as many of his friends attend and they would love to see a motorcycle escoort from the service to Fox Hills.
I am sure you all are with me when I offer me sincere condolences to Ray’s family, he will be missed by many.
Best regards
Ray Robinson
President
