GRENFELL REUNION RIDE, 14TH/15TH MARCH
February 18, 2009
| G’day all,
The “Return to Grenfell” ride on the weekend of 14th and 15th March is going to be one hell of a hoot. The function for this reunion event will be the Albion Hotel (we haven’t had a doo there yet, so to spread ourselves around, this year is the go). This is where the club all started, some 15 years ago, so let’s take it out on the town that caused all this…lol. Meeting place in Sydney will be 8.30am for a 9am departure at McDonalds, M4 Westbound, next door to the Caltex, we will then be heading south along the M7 (so if you haven’t got an E Tag account, then you will get the bill in the mail a few days later) or for those that want to meet up at Pheasants Nest (Mobil south bound) we will have a quick call in there so be ready to leave there at 10am, the olden days route through Harden, lunch at Wombat Pub (hopefully Macca won’t set fire to his bike again) then the leasurely ride into Grenfell through Young. If we get some of the Southern Highlanders on the ride, we will meet you at Hungry Jacks at Marulan which will also be a fuel stop for the old fashioned and very thirsty Hardleys, they can also tighten up the loose bolts, give them a grease and oil change and fix any fallen bits with fence wire (now I have got rid of my Harley, you Harley mob are gunna cop it…lol.). Entertainment has been organised for the evening at the Albion Hotel. Accomodation can be arranged by phoning the following or visit www.grenfell.org.au/accomodation.htm for info on B&B, Caravan Parks and others. Albion Hotel 6343 1199 Royal Hotel 6343 1412 Exchange Hotel 6343 1034 Railway Hotel 6343 1807 Grenfell Motel 6343 1333 Please pass this on to any other members as some have not yet given me their email addresses or do not have access to modern communication outlets… I am still organising our breakfast in the park, but you will be notified as to arrangements for the brekky on Sunday morning ASAP. The trip home will be back through Cowra, Bathurst, Lithgow then for those up north Bells Line of Roads or for those that want to travel over the mountains, we will say our goodbye’s at Lithgow. Please pass this on to all the members, even if you think they may have given me their email addresses, some are bouncing. If we use the old telephone tree, then everyone will get the message. Best regards Robbo |

BLUE LINERS SUPPORT THE RIDING FOR DISABLED
February 18, 2009
Hi All,
Once again the Blue liners have worked hard to deliver a little relief to a worthwhile charity by giving a donation of $3,000 to the charity nominated at the AGM Walcha. The grateful recipient was the Charity ‘Riding for the Disabled’ (RDA) Tamworth Branch. The RDA has been operating for 31 years, the centre is completely operated by volunteers of all ages ranging from school age to seniors that give their time so those with physical and intellectual disabilities can enjoy contact with horses and the benefits derived from such contact.
The cheque presentation ceremony was conducted at the Tamworth Police Station, present were myself, Robbo (Pres) Frank Eagan (Sec), Mick (BL member), Supt Pheeney, Bob Taylor (Pres RDA) and members of the RDA executive. The event was reported by the Northern Dailey Leader who have indicated that they will give their full support at this years Tamworth Rally on May 16 & 17, in addition the Local Area Commander has given his full support to the Blue Liners in the upcoming Rally in Tamworth.
A big thanks to all Blue Liners that support the Club, and are actively involved in taking this great club to the next level.
Cheers

TWEED/GOLD COAST HELP THE BUSHFIRE VICTIMS
February 16, 2009
SUNDAY 22ND FEBRUARY, DAY RIDE
G’Day All
Since the last posting for the Bike Expo at Broadbeach, Gold Coast, things have changed due to the devastating fires that claimed so many lives and property in Victoria. I have made the decision that the Expo ride to Broadbeach will now be a Blue Liners charity ride in support of the victims. A donation of a blue note ($10) per bike will be collected in aid of the victims, so come on get the lead out and attend with your mates, you are not only supporting a good cause but to also enjoy the expo.
The day ride to the Bike Expo will be departing the BP Goonellabah 9am, Mt St Helena 9.50am, Sunday 22nd Feb, then pick up the Tweed mob at the rest area opposite the heavy Vehicle checking station Chinderah at 10.15am. Start time at the expo will be 11am (NSW time).
Do not confuse this ride with Harley’s overnighter, this is a one day ride.
Cheers

BRILLIANT START TO THE 09 RIDING YEAR
February 6, 2009
What a great start to the Blue Liners riding year last weekend.
With 2 rides organised by the club, one for those wanting a weekend away in sunny Forster by the sea and also a fantastic ‘day ride’ to see our member Andrew Boyd’s tremendous collection of motorcycles at Casino, the Blue Liners catered for 92 members, families and friends. That just proves that this club is definately heading in the ‘right direction’, eh.
To top off the great weekends activities, it looks like we have managed to recruit 13 new members this last weekend, what a brilliant effort by everyone and to our new members, welcome to the best motorcycle club in the universe.
By now, you should have recieved your 15th Anniversary Celebration kits, aren’t they great? I hope that everyone will wear the badge with pride as it is a one off issue and will be part of the new member kits until the end of this year then we will revert back to our club badge. I also hope that it may encourage some of the members that have not been able to make some of the rides of late, to make that extra effort, so that your fellow brothers and sisters in this club can once again enjoy your company.
Our next overnight or weekend ride is to Grenfell for the Anniversary Grenfel Ride on the weekend of the 14th and 15th March, more details will be emailed to our members in a week or so.
We are also supporting the Bike Biz Bushfire Brigade ride on March 8th. This is a Sunday, one day ride to Lithgow to raise funds for the very deserved Rural Fire Service Volunteers to purchase some much needed equipment that is not supplied by the government. This is the 6th ride that we have organised and to date around $30,000 has been raised which enabled the RFS in the Lithgow/Blue Mountains to purchase better communication equipment, a Fire Education Van to visit schools and many, many other items including state of the art nozzles from the USA.
This ride will leave MacDonalds car park, McGraths Hill (near Windsor) at 10am, registrations will start from 8.30am. If you can get there, please come along and lend a hand. I promise you will be impressed with the display as well as the ride.
That’s about all from me for now, I will put more on the site in the next week or so as well as send out an email to our members about both the above mentioned rides, so if I have not got your current email address, please send me an email at rob1ray@bigpond.net.au so I can add you to the mail out list, snail mails are costing the club far too much money and the emails system is far more efficient.
Best regards to all
Robbo
