HAVE YOU REGISTERED AND ORGANISED YOUR ACCOMODATION, DON’T MISS OUT, IT WILL BE HOOOOOOOOJ

The Blue Liners 21st Tamworth Charity Ride is on again in just a few weeks, this year we are holding it just outside Tamworth at the beautiful village of Nundle. Some people have been told that accomodation is all gone, that is not the case, there is still a limited amount of beds available, so be quick to secure your accomodation and go to our site at www.blueliners.com.au and register for the ride and your meals. It will be a fantastic night at “The Dag” Sheepstation, dancing and a great bar will make the night one to certainly remember. All the proceeds this year go to Police Legacy and we will also be selling tickets to our monster raffle for the Dave Rixon Fundraiser. The prizes are huge and include a Yamaha TTR50 motorcycle thanks to Yamaha Australia and Bike Biz, an AFL package that includes flights, accomodation,Corporate facilities at Skoda Stadium and transport to and from thanks to Skoda Australia and Bellbowrie Motors, a brilliant jacket or goods to the same value from Harley Davidson and North Coast V Twins, a reverse cycle split system airconditioner installed thanks to Blue Liners Brandon Walker and Richard Webster, a great prize from the Wiggles for the kids/grandkids, a number of holiday accomodation packages and much, much more. To check it out, click on the Dave Rixon fundraiser button and then have a look under ‘our sponsors’ on that page. Raffle Tickets are still for sale from the site or by one of our many volunteers in your area.
Anyhow, see you on the Tamworth/Nundle Ride on the 2nd June…

strong>LOOKING FOR SOMETHING TO DO THIS WEEKEND? WELL THEN, THE TUMUT CHARITY RIDE IS ON

HAVE YOU GOT YOUR SENIOR CONSTABLE DAVID RIXON RAFFLE TICKETS, 100% OF THE PROCEEDS GO TO THE LATE DAVE RIXON’S FAMILY.

This year, we will again be supporting Police Legacy through the Wall to Wall and our great mates at Tumut Lions will also be on board and cooking us dinner and brekky at the Orry Hotel and supporting a number of local charities.

To find out the ride details, go to the Ride Calendar page and click on the Tumut Ride, all info is there and while you are at it, don;t forget to buy your David Rixon Raffle Tickets.

For the Sydney and northern participants you will notice that this year for the ‘Official ride’ we are suggesting a direct route, that does not mean that if you want a more challenging ride, you have to head straight down the Freeway (although you can if you wish), please feel free to organise any alternate roads you wish to ride, there is a lot of them and the times that are listed are so that anyone who decides to head off on alternate routes will know what time and where the ‘official’ ride stops and leaves, this ceratinly is not intended to make anyone ride down any route that they may feel is not interesting enough but it also allows for anyone that has a long distance to travel or feels more comfortable with a more direct route to all meet up and ride into Tumut together from South Gundagai…

There is a number of rides from various different areas of NSW and Victoria, join in at one of the meeting points listed in the Ride Calendar and have a great weekend away.

More info is available in the Ride Calendar, so all you need to do now is Register and Ride.

As they say in the classics, Be there or be square…..

Best regards

REST IN PEACE – SENIOR CONSTABLE DAVID RIXON

2 March 2012

TODAY WE HAVE LOST ANOTHER POLICE HERO

It is a very sad day in the life of the NSW Police Force and for the New South Wales community as well. We have once again, lost one of the rarest breed of our community, one who stands up against crime and criminals and puts themself in the line of fire……THE THIN BLUE LINE…

David Rixon is such a person.

In circumstances which will become public in due course, the life of a 40 year old man, a father, husband and friend who, since 1990 has served the community of NSW and Tamworth, this morning paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty in Tamworth.

David was shot a number of times and tragically lost his life as a result.

David rode with our New England mob and was a regular at their coffee meetings, and rides and he will be missed.

To the family of David, our deepest and sincere condolences go out to you, to his many friends from the Police family as well as those in the Blue Liners, our thoughts are with you and if there is anything that can be done, we are only a phone call away.

I ask that every Blue Liner member as well as anyone else reading this post, spare a moment of thought for David and his family on this tragic day.

Yours sincerely
Ray Robinson
President

THE ANNUAL TUMUT CHARITY RIDE IS ON THE WEEKEND OF 17TH AND 18TH MARCH 2012

It is only a short time now until we head to the beautiful town of Tumut in the foothills of the great Snowy Mountains. This year will be a little different from the ones in the past where we have been subjected to the sometimes chilly weather of the region, even in summer it gets very cold of a night.

Well, this year we have moved in doors, the function this year will be at the Oriental Hotel in the main street of Tumut. Meals and entertainment is available for those that want to ‘bop the night away’ and heaps of accomodation is central to the venue.

This year, we will again be supporting Police Legacy through the Wall to Wall and our great mates at Tumut Lions will also be on board and supporting a number of local charities.

To register as well as find out the ride details, go to the Ride Calendar page and click on the Tumut Ride, all info and how to register is on that site.

Robbo

It is with the deepest regret I must inform all of our members of the passing of Stephen Dearnley, Ulysses Member #1.

Stephen had also been involved with the Blue Liners over the years and as many will know, was a true gentleman.

On behalf of the Blue Liners and members that we share, our deepest sympathies and condolences are with the Family of Stephen and all of his many friends in the Motorcycle Community.

I have lifted a release from the Ulysses site wihich I have attached below.

Ray Robinson

I am writing with the sad news that Old Number 1, Stephen Dearnley – one of the Ulysses Club’s founders and our guiding light for more than a quarter of a century – passed away this afternoon, Saturday 11th February. A memorial service is planned for Thursday afternoon 29th March at the Mildura AGM.

The following announcement is on the national website:

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the National Committee announces the passing of our founding member, Old Number 1, Stephen Dearnley. As can be appreciated, it is a sad time for his family and those close to him.

Knowing the love that members have for Stephen, the family realises the many cards and condolence messages will follow. In respect of their privacy and sadness at this time, the National Committee asks that all condolences be sent via the National Administration Office.

Although Stephen’s funeral will be a private affair for family and invited friends, the National Committee advises that a memorial service will be held at the Mildura AGM Event 2012. We hope that the membership can be there to celebrate the life and legacy that this man leaves.

Please appreciate this is a difficult time for all. A tribute page to Stephen will be available shortly in the Members’ area of the National website.

On behalf of the National Committee

Denis Paulin
President
Ulysses Club Inc.

The Foster Ride is behind us, it is now time for the club to ‘Stomp the Tumbarumba’ and join our southern mobs in beautiful Tumbarumba and enjoy the world famous Tumbafest, a feast of music and great food all on the weekend of 25th and 26th February. The Murray Mob have oganised the festival weekend just for the Blue Liners (not really, it just happened that way…lol) to visit and enjoy the great roads in and out of the Tumbarumba area. For details, go to our ride calendar page, it is listed as the next ride and contact Tom from the Murray Mob and then get your self and whoever you wish to take with you and do as that great old Johnny Devlin Ozzy Surf Song used to tell us…..
