COFFEE RIDE ON WEDNESDAY 25 AUGUST 2010.

Southern Sydney mob have organised the next day ride (coffee ride) for Wednesday 25 August 2010, departing Heathcote McDonalds, cnr Princes Hwy and Heathcote Road at 9am. I will be there from 8.30am. This is the southbound McDonalds on the Hwy, not the northbound one just up the road at Engadine. Our lunchtime destination is Huskisson pub and the route we plan to travel will be Princes Hwy to Bulli Tops, Mt Ousley Road, F6 through to Albion Park Rail McDonalds at Albion Park Rail for a 10am meet up with Wollongong members. Then continue south along Princes Hwy past Kiama to Berry for our first coffee stop. After coffee, we will be continuing south on the Princes Hwy through Nowra to Falls Creek, then left onto Jervis Bay Road to Huskisson and lunch at the Husky Pub.

Return route will be coast road through Shoalhaven Heads and Gerringong, through to Kiama for another short break (maybe coffee) then depending on time along the coast road over Sea Cliff Bridge, Helensburgh and return to Heathcote. Ride should conclude about 4.00pm.

Please note these mid week day rides about having a bit of relaxed fun – so if raining the ride will be OFF.

If you need to contact me please feel free to ring on 0447 454045.

17TH & 18TH JULY, 2010

REKINDLE OUR AUSSIE RACING SPIRIT (ROARS)

You bloody beauty, it’s on again.

It’s only a couple of weeks until we do the very propular ROARS Ride to Bathurst.

Along the way we will be doing a walking tour of the historic Catalina Raceway at Katoomba (unfortunately, this track is very quickly deteriorating and will not be around for much longer) then I will take you on a tour of the Old Vale Circuit at Bathurst where Harry Hinton and some of his very brave compadres used to race around a country road circuit which was only half closed (open to oncoming traffic). This circuit was the predecessor to Mount Panorama which will be our next visit before we finish the day off with a visit to the Mount Panorama Racing Museum.

Meeting point on Saturday morning will be at Maccas, M4 Westbound, part of the Twin Caltex Service Centres, leaving at 9.30am.

Dinner is at the Kelso Hotel.

This was one of the highlights of our 2008 calendar, if you missed it, make sure you don’t miss out on this one as it is a beauty. For those that came, you remember what a great time was had and can look forward to having another great trip.

Remember…..Be there or be square..

The inaugural Wall to Wall Police Remembrance motorcycle ride is on the weekend of 18th and 19th September.

There is a group leaving Melbourne and travelling up the coast road staying overnight at Merimbula. For those that would like a shorter ride, a group will be meeting at Albury and riding to either Goulburn and meeting the Sydney crowd or riding direct to Canberra. More information on our route closer to the date.

For those looking for accommodation, our Sydney and Queensland members are staying at the Statesman Hotel/Motel at Curtin, secure parking and all facilities are on site, to book a bed phone direct 02 6281 1777 but book early as it is Floriade in Canberra and accommodation is very, very tight and very, very expensive. A special deal is being done at the Statesman so be sure to mention the Blue Liners or the Wall to Wall ride.

For details on our group ride, contact Sergeant Paul Brady, Corryong Police on mobile 0409 567 667 or Detective Inspector Brad Blanchard at Albury Police Station on 02 6023 9267.

To register, you can either click on the link on the Blue Liners site or go to www.walltowallride.com

Inaugural
NATIONAL POLICE REMEMBRANCE RIDE
18th September 2010

Leaving Domain Sydney, under Police Escort to Goulburn Police Academy then mass ride into Canberra and the National Police Wall of Remembrance.

G’day all,

The inaugural Police Remembrance Ride, known as the Wall to Wall Ride will be on the weekend of 18th and 19th September, 2010. As Blue Liners, you are all welcome to attend to show our respects to the fallen officers of the Police throughout Australia.

The specific ride departure and route details will be forthcoming as soon as they are set in concrete but as it is Floriade in the ACT over that weekend, accommodation is extremely tight and even moreso, extremely expensive ($500 p/n for the Rydges at corporate rates). As a result, I have arranged a special deal with our usual Anzac Ride accommodation at the Statesman Hotel/Motel. They have all facilities in house as well as secure parking for your bikes, meals and refreshments.

You must book in early though, busses book the place out very very quickly and accommodation is already filling up.

Statesman Motel phone number is 02 6281 1777, make sure you mention you are with the Blue Liners or the Wall to Wall ride.

To register, go to the Wall to Wall site or click on the link on the right hand side of our home page and you can register and pay through the site direct, Whilst we are on the organising committee, Blue Liners will not be collecting registrations for this ride.

Please show our respect to those that have made the supreme sacrifice and let your friends know that they are welcome to attend (ride is not restricted to Police only). Be aware though (I know that members of our club are not affected by this and this does not affect our club patch or badge), as this is a National Police sanctioned ride, no club back patches with rockers (Club Colours) or offensive slogans on vests or jackets are permitted and may result in anyone wearing same to be asked to remove it or leave the ride…

Book your accommodation now as it will fill fast and it is the only place in Canberra that is reasonably priced…..

Best regards
Ray Robinson
President
